Posts should be highly focused on one subject
Select an idea for every blog post you write and stick to it for the whole length of the write up. Do not mix up ideas or divert from the topic because it may confuse the reader. It could also reflect your inconsistency and lack of precision. Tackle one subject at a time and make the write up highly informative.
Avoid very lengthy articles
While it is important to tackle one topic at a time, it is also important to avoid lengthy articles. The optimum length is 500 to 750 words. In case the topic you choose needs more word count, split the article into two or three parts.
At the end of the first part, put in a line about what the next part is going to contain. Also, publish consecutive parts with not more than two days gap so that the previous part remains fresh in the readers’ mind and you can ensure continuity.
Keep it simple
Language and presentation have to be simple. You don’t want readers to pay more attention on figuring out your complex words and sentences rather than the content. Simplicity is always more engaging.
Space out your blogposts
You should always make it a point to write at least two blogs per week. Space them out so that a new blog appears every third or fourth day. This way, visitors know when to expect a new post and they make it a point to visit your blog to read something fresh. However, remember that the more blog posts you write, the more visitors you will get. Each blog post will bring traffic to your website - and what's even better its free traffic!
Select topics related to your business
When a person visits your blog, he expects information about your business. So, avoid writing about random things that add no value to your business or for the readers.
Put statistics aside, pay attention to visitor engagement
Business blogging is all about reader engagement. Do not pay a lot of attention to the number of visitors who come to the blog every day. Your focus should be to see how many of the ones who visit engage in your content. Check your posts and see the number of comments and feedback you receive. If activity on the blog is low, you need to alter your blogging style.
Your business blog can get you huge dividends in more than one ways. You just need to invest in some smart blogging.
